Crescent Hearts

Try this deliciously easy version of a French bakery specialty.

3 tablespoons red decorator sugar
1 (8-oz.) can Refrigerated Crescent Dinner Rolls
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Lightly grease cookie sheets. Sprinkle cutting board with half of decorator sugar. On sugar-sprinkled board, separate dough into 4 rectangles; firmly press perforations to seal. Lightly press dough into sugar. Brush rectangles with 1 tablespoon of the butter; sprinkle with remaining half of sugar.

Place 1 rectangle on top of another. Starting with both of the shortest sides, roll up each side jelly-roll fashion until rolls meet in center. Repeat with remaining 2 rectangles. Refrigerate dough rolls about 30 minutes or until dough is firm.

Heat oven to 375°F. With serrated knife, cut each roll into 8 slices, forming a total of 16 slices. Place slices, cut side down, 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Pinch bottom edge of each slice to form a heart shape. Brush with remaining tablespoon butter.

Bake at 375°F. for 9 to 13 minutes or until golden brown. If necessary, gently reroll cookies. Immediately remove from cookie sheets.

Valentine's Creamy "Jigglers"

2-1/2 cups boiling water
2 pkg. (8-serving size each) Gelatin, any red flavor
1 cup cold milk
1 pkg. (4-serving size) Vanilla Instant Pudding & Pie Filling

STIR boiling water into dry gelatin mix in large bowl at least 3 minutes until completely dissolved. Cool 30 minutes at room temperature.

POUR milk into medium bowl. Add dry pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk 1 minute. Add to gelatin; stir until well blended. Pour into 13x9-inch pan.

REFRIGERATE 3 hours or until firm. Dip bottom of pan in warm water about 15 seconds. Cut into 24 decorative shapes with 2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutters, making sure to cut all the way through gelatin to bottom of pan. Lift from pan.

At 24 servings, this fun recipe is great for a Valentine's Day party or classroom celebration.

The Jigglers remaining in the pan after the cutouts are done can be refrigerated in a covered container and then tossed together with fruit for a colorful dessert "the whole family will love."
