Summer Smoothies
Orange Julius The original smoothie! 1 cup orange juice 1/3 cup nonfat dry milk 3 t. sugar 1/4 t. vanilla 4-6 ice cubes Combine all ingredients in blender. Process until thick and frothy. Strawberry-Blueberry Smoothie 1/2 cup frozen blueberries 1 cup frozen strawberries 1 frozen banana (peel banana before freezing) 1 1/2 cups milk 1/2 cup regular or frozen vanilla, strawberry or blueberry yogurt (can substitute silken tofu) Whirl all ingredients together in a blender until smooth. Serve immediately. Pumpkin Pie Smoothie 1 (15 ounce) can pure pumpkin, chilled 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk, chilled 1 cup (8 ounce container) vanilla low fat yogurt 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice Whipped cream or Cool Whip Combine all ingredients except whipped topping. Blend well. Top with whipped topping and a pinch of pumpkin pie spice.
Peaches and Cream Smoothie 1 cup evaporated milk 1 tablespoon sugar 1 cup vanilla yogurt 2 fresh peaches, washed, pitted and sliced Blend for one minute. Banana-Peach Buttermilk Smoothie from Southern Living 2 large ripe bananas, sliced and frozen 2 cups frozen peaches 1 cup fat-free buttermilk 1/4 cup fresh orange juice 1 tablespoon honey Process all ingredients in a blender until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides. Serve immediately. |
